Kondapalli Dashavataram Showpiece
It relates to the ten avatars of Vishnu namely Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Budha, and Kalki. The specialty of these avatars is that the first four avatars are meant to appear in the Satya Yuga. The fifth sixth and seventh are to appear in the Treta Yuga. The avatar of Krishna is said to appear in the Dwapara Yuga. Budha and Kalki in the Kali Yuga. Each avatar has a story of its own. This wooden piece shows ten different forms carved beautifully out of wood have minute detailing running across the avatars. These are separately carved on tiny wooden blocks and are neatly arranged in a rectangular box frame. Hints of blue, yellow, and red are added to these idols to give them a divine look. This piece is an ideal décor item for occasions like Navararthri and Makar Sankranti.
